111 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019, USA
Explore a 6,268-sq-ft modern luxury home at 111 West 57th Street in New York. This dining room highlights contemporary elegance, iconic design, and refined living.

The design narrative unfolds as an interplay between structure and warmth. While the black and dark-wood dining table grounds the composition with its geometric lines, the curved reddish fabric chairs soften the mood, creating a balance between modern rigor and sensual comfort.
Lighting was envisioned as an art form. The Moooi Coppélia chandelier branches into sculptural elegance, serving as the centerpiece above the dining table, while Moooi Random Light II casts a poetic play of shadows across the space. Complementing these, a rattan-inspired wall sconce adds a natural counterpoint to the otherwise cosmopolitan narrative.

Every element was chosen to create layers of sophistication. Marble, dark wood, brushed metal, and fabric weave together in tactile dialogue. The result is a dining room that feels both structured and indulgent, heightened by the panoramic New York skyline view framed through oversized windows.

Favorite Element:
“The contrast of the warm red-orange chairs against the dark-wood table—it feels like a curated artwork I get to dine within every evening.”

Biggest Challenge & Solution:
The challenge lay in ensuring warmth within a minimal contemporary framework. The solution was layering: tactile fabrics, natural wood accents, and floral arrangements that brought life into the restrained palette.

Budget:
With a budget of USD 80,000, the design team prioritized statement lighting and iconic furniture pieces from B&B Italia and Moooi, ensuring timeless elegance without visual excess.

This dining room is designed for sophisticated gatherings—from intimate wine dinners with fellow collectors to curated soirées overlooking Central Park.
For the homeowner, whose lifestyle bridges finance and philanthropy, the room doubles as a gallery-like stage. Dining becomes a ritual of art, conversation, and refinement. Brands like B&B Italia, Moooi, and Verpan embody this ethos, bringing not only furniture, but cultural statements that align with an HNW lifestyle.
Dining Chair: B&B Italia M-Flair O – Known as the “domestic throne,” this swivel chair by Monica Armani harmonizes elegance and comfort. Its rounded truncated-pyramid base gently widens toward the back for stability, while the padded seat and automatic return mechanism ensure graceful posture at the dining table.
Suspension Lighting: Moooi Coppelia Suspended – A striking chandelier designed by Arihiro Miyake, this piece features multiple tiers of light-emitting rods arranged like crystalline spokes. Its architectural silhouette and delicate glow make it an unforgettable focal point.
Side Table / Mobile Storage: Verpan Barboy (1963) Black – A multifunctional icon reimagined by Verner Panton. Featuring three oval drawers and chrome-accented casters, Barboy combines matte and metallic surfaces in a deceptively playful yet practical design.
Suspension Lighting: Moooi Random Light II – Designed by Bertjan Pot, this pendant emits a poetic aura with its hand-spun fiberglass strands forming an imperfect spherical web. Each piece is uniquely irregular, glowing softly while casting intricate shadows.
“Luxury is not about excess—it’s about creating layers of emotion through design. A dining space should feel like an invitation, not an exhibition.” — Lead Designer, 111 West 57th Street Project
