Step inside a 2,520-sq-ft Zen luxury home in Venice, Los Angeles. Natural style, oceanfront views, and a cozy living room designed for comfort & elegance.
Set against the iconic backdrop of Los Angeles’ coastline, this high-end interior project celebrates collectible furniture as art, where form meets wellness and each corner speaks a visual language of refinement. The investment of $90,000 was channeled into a curated ensemble of sculptural pieces, artisan finishes, and world-class lighting design, delivering a residence worthy of the most discerning global aesthete.

The design narrative unfolds with a concept titled “Serene Sculptural Aesthetics: A Sanctuary for Immersion.” Far more than an exhibition space or entertaining area, the living room was shaped to offer meditative refuge from life’s intensity. It invites visitors to step out of routine and into a world of sensory harmony.
The approach begins with form—restrained yet expressive. Each item of furniture was selected not just for function, but as a sculptural art piece. Think soft-edged silhouettes, monolithic centerpieces, and artisan-crafted finishes that echo the language of fine sculpture. Soft light dances off their surfaces at varying hours, transforming the room’s mood from sunlit vibrance to candlelit calm.

Materiality played a critical role. Natural oak, honed travertine, and subtly veined marble establish a dialogue between warmth and serenity. Delicate yet intentional textiles—brushed linen, cashmere-blend throws, and handcrafted paper lamps—introduce an atmosphere of invitation, not intimidation.
Light became a silent co-designer. Hidden cove lighting, low Kelvin spotlights, and bespoke alabaster fixtures were choreographed to evoke psychological restoration. Rather than dominate, the light is felt—as a gentle guide from stress to stillness. Combined with ocean views filtered through sheer Japanese panels, the result is a complete sensory ecosystem designed for presence and peace.

“The living room makes me feel like I’m walking through a gallery of stillness. The light changes everything—I feel reset, every time I sit with it.”

One major challenge was avoiding the starkness often associated with minimalism. The solution lay in layering warm tones and fine finishes: warm neutrals, caramel-toned woods, and soft, tactile upholstery. This fusion retained the space’s purity while inviting human connection.

With a $90,000 investment, the project leaned into the ethos of “less, but better.” The homeowner prioritized collectible design over quantity—securing timeless pieces from premium brands, custom commissions, and artisan collaborations that elevate the home’s long-term value.

This sanctuary is more than visually appealing—it aligns seamlessly with the homeowner’s lifestyle. As a creative director and fashion consultant, her days are often drenched in noise, speed, and visual overstimulation. Here, the living room becomes an intentional reset.
Enhancing this atmosphere are select luxury accents: Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades for collectible elegance, Bang & Olufsen for immersive sound, and artisan ceramics from Gubi that bring contemporary refinement. The space is both personal sanctuary and social theater, fluidly adapting to her rhythms.
“Luxury isn’t loud. It’s the quiet mastery of space, light, and meaning,” shares the lead designer. “In this home, the absence of clutter creates the presence of self.”
