Before and After

In the heart of Los Angeles, a discreet art collector sought to transform their 6500-square-foot West Hollywood Edition residence into a sanctuary of refinement and cultural depth. With a $60,000 investment dedicated to their dining space, they desired a setting that blends Oriental Interior Design with contemporary sophistication. The result is a dining room that feels like an intimate art gallery, a space where every meal becomes a curated ritual.

This LA Luxury Residence exudes quiet elegance. Crafted with High-End Furniture from bespoke ateliers and styled with an artist’s eye, the dining room achieves a rare balance between serenity and grandeur. Here, heritage and modernity coexist: the stillness of Japanese minimalism is layered with the tactile presence of European craftsmanship. It is a space that whispers luxury rather than shouts, embodying the refined lifestyle of its owner.

Design Story

The West Hollywood Edition dining room was designed as a narrative of contrasts—dark and light, smooth and textured, intimate and expansive. The centerpiece is a long blackwood dining table, a sculptural anchor that conveys both permanence and calm gravity. Surrounding it are dark wood chairs with gently curved lines, evoking the grace of Oriental calligraphy.

Natural light filters through vertical wood slats, creating dynamic shadows that shift across the room throughout the day. The designer emphasized tactile materiality: polished stone surfaces meet matte ceramics, while smooth wall panels contrast with the organic grain of wood cabinetry. Above, a linear pendant light acts as a stroke of modern simplicity, guiding the eye along the length of the table.

Abstract artwork and curated ceramics punctuate the space with cultural resonance. Every object has been chosen for its symbolic weight, from hand-thrown vases to Japanese-inspired ink paintings. The room is not just a dining area but a stage for presence and awareness—a place where stillness itself becomes part of the design.

Homeowner Q&A

Favorite Element:

“The dining table itself. Its quiet strength brings the family together and sets the tone for every gathering. It feels timeless.”

Biggest Challenge & Solution:

The challenge lay in balancing the large scale of a 6500SF home with the intimate nature of dining. The solution was to anchor the room with bold yet simple furniture forms and create rhythm with architectural slats and art placement. This ensured both intimacy and grandeur.

Budget:

The $60,000 investment was allocated with precision, ensuring every piece was collectible-quality. From the marble countertop to handcrafted ceramics, each element represents a long-term asset in the realm of High-End Furniture and artful living.

Lifestyle Impact

This Oriental Interior Design dining room is more than a space—it is an experience. The homeowner, an art collector who often entertains cultural figures, finds the room ideal for intimate dinners as well as larger gatherings. The elongated table invites conversation, while the calm palette supports an atmosphere of reflection.

Luxury brands play a subtle yet powerful role. Louis Vuitton ceramics accentuate side consoles, while a Roche Bobois sideboard balances storage with sculptural elegance. For special occasions, Versace Home tableware transforms the space into a statement of high fashion living. Here, the dining room becomes both a gallery and a salon—where business conversations flow seamlessly into evenings of cultural exchange.
